Since its foundation, Egalité has been combating discrimination affecting LGBTI+ staff within the European institutions.
In order to better follow up specific discrimination situations that our community might have, Egalité’s committee has created working groups to follow up those matters. Currently, the working groups are:
- Family: Its main focus are the problems that may arise when forming a family, including medical expenses, parental leaves, etc.
- Trans: The priority is that our trans colleagues feel welcomed by the EU institutions so the focus is raising awareness and educating managers and staff, as well as providing a safe space at work.
- Health: Focuses on making sure that colleagues that live with HIV are not discriminated against, the availability of PrEP in the different work places and any other health-related matter.
